Chimbala
Chimbala is one of the leading forces in Dominican dembow, known for his explosive energy, playful charisma, and instantly recognizable voice. Born Leury José Tejeda Brito in Santo Domingo, he rose from the local dembow scene to become an international hitmaker, helping push the genre beyond the Dominican Republic and into clubs and festivals worldwide.
He broke into the mainstream with high-impact tracks like “Maniquí,” “Che Che,” “Loco,” and the viral smash “El Juidero.” His music blends hard-hitting dembow rhythms with catchy hooks, humorous ad-libs, and dance-ready beats that dominate parties across Latin America and the U.S. Chimbala has also collaborated with major artists in reggaetón and Latin urban music, further cementing his crossover appeal.
